Mike’s Bio/Experience

Owner and Chief Designer, Mike McKay, has long recognized the need for smart, cutting-edge space renovation that is both personal and retains the warmth of home. His eye for detail is matched only by his creativity in design.

Respected by his peers and active in professional advancement in the industry, Mike has chaired the executive committee of Birmingham’s award-winning Master Builder/Master Remodeler program, chaired the board of the GBAHB Remodelers, (bringing home an NAHB National Cadre award for Birmingham), chaired the committee creating the Remodel Birmingham Magazine, chaired the committee creating the Alabama Remodeling Excellence Award program. He is a current member of National Association of Home Builders, NAHB Remodelers, Home Builders Association of Alabama, HBAA Remodelers, Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders, and GBAHB Remodelers.

Mike, the youngest of three boys, was born and raised in Childersburg, Alabama, and graduated from UAB. He and his wife met at Oakmont United Methodist Church and married in 1993. They have two amazing children who were raised in Chelsea and graduated from Auburn and Birmingham Southern.

Mike and his wife were on the team that helped to start Morningstar UMC when they moved from Homewood to Chelsea. They have both served in several positions of servant leadership and have made wonderful life-long friendships there.

Mike and Oak Alley’s well-earned reputation has led to several feature articles in Remodel Birmingham magazine, Birmingham Home & Garden, The Birmingham News and interviews on local television news programs. Oak Alley, Inc. has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

 

 

Vicky’s Bio/Experience

Vicky grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduated from Louisiana State University and moved to the Birmingham area after college. She and Mike married in 1993 and moved to Shelby County where their children, Rachel and James were born and raised.

Vicky held responsibilities as secretary, receptionist, bookkeeper, office manager, accountant, and technology logistics in various industries. She joined Mike in his business in August of 1994 and now incorporates those skills to ensure the office half of Oak Alley runs as efficiently as possible. She enjoys developing relationships with Oak Alley clients, always greeting them with a professional and helpful attitude with every call!

Vicky and her whole family are long-time active and involved members of Morningstar United Methodist Church where she and Mike have both held positions of leadership over the years. Vicky also enjoys cheering on the LSU Tigers, Alabama, Auburn and the BSC Panthers, Tennessee, and most of the rest of the SEC – in that order! Creating a life in this beautiful state and getting to enjoy it with your family is the greatest gift we can ask for.

 

 

George’s Bio/Experience

George comes to us from the advertising industry where he held positions at multiple agencies as Traffic Director and Account Coordinator before diving into the remodeling industry. As a graduate in Communications from the University of Alabama, George has written, photographed, filmed, produced, and created a wide variety of projects across the southeast. Additionally, he holds a JD in law from Birmingham School of Law. As Operations Manager for Oak Alley, George uses his experience to both manage project workflow alongside Mike and create and produce marketing content for the company.

George and his wife have three boys and are active in the local Boy Scout troop where he serves as Scoutmaster. His family loves to travel and pursue photography around the country. Family is extremely important to George and the rest of the crew at Oak Alley.
